I will never forget the day I found my wedding dress. I was in Ft. Lauderdale, an adventurous 20-something, newly-engaged, hot, hip, and fit. I had jet-setted to this fun beach town for the bachelorette party of a great friend of mine.
Before the crew arrived, I headed out for a beach-bound run on Las Olas Boulevard, and that’s when I saw it. My princess dream dress beckoned to me from a wedding boutique’s window. It wasn’t your traditional wedding dress. It was cream with a layer of tulle embroidered with charming pastel pink, green and blue flowers, but nonetheless, I fell in love with it. And I knew I just had to go try it on (after I went home and showered, of course)!
In the dressing room, I slipped into the gown, it zipped up, and it was a perfect fit (like Cinderella, no alterations, no joke!). When I stepped up in front of the mirror, time stood still… It was love at first sight.
Of course, I tried on every other dress in that boutique to cover all my bases, but I only had one on my mind. So, after running all the ladies in that store ragged, I knew 50 dresses later that the first dress I tried on was, without a doubt, the one. And to top it off, it was in my budget!
